Sat Taxonomy

Lumina Prep has reverse-engineered the SAT to identify what concepts are tested and each concept's point value.

Identifying and quantifying the patterns in the SAT is a complex project - just take a look at a simplified section of the geometry taxonomy.  We analyzed over 9,000 data points to calculate how frequently each concept is tested.

Mark Alfano, Lumina Prep's founder, developed the taxonomy tool during his 10 years of experience studying and tutoring the SAT. His private students routinely improve their scores by over 300 points; their success is a testament to the tool's effectiveness.

Lumina Prep is making this sophisticated tool available to everyone online, not just students who can afford high priced private tutors. The taxonomy is the core of Lumina Prep's approach. We designed individual lessons around it, use it to diagnose what concepts our students should study, and share it with our students to clarify the SAT's structure.

The taxonomy tool is the foundation of our approach and available nowhere else.
